Last Call for 2016's Flower and Garden Festival Food Items

It's hard to believe that in less than a month, the 2016 Flower and Garden Festival at Epcot will be over! Since the festival began (and after my last post about the Festival's new Bauernmarkt kiosk), I have had the chance to sample a few more items at the 12 other "Outdoor Kitchen" food booths around World Showcase.

A few of you may have noticed that we're not showing photos of every single one of the Outdoor Kitchen Food Items at this year's Flower and Garden Festival. When looking at the statistics for our site, it seemed that while many visitors enjoyed viewing the main photo page, very few were leaving detailed reviews for individual food items. There's tons of pollen in the air here in Central Florida, and that can only mean one thing... the outdoor Food and Beverage Kiosks at Epcot's 2016 Flower and Garden Festival are very close to serving up their yummy tapas-sized treats once again!
This year's 23rd Flower and Garden Festival is an unprecedented 90-days long and in an also unprecedented move, we actually have the full menu available… 11 days before the festival starts!!!!

Joffrey's and Sunshine Seasons Get In On The Foodie (and Beverage) Action at Epcot's 2016 Flower and Garden Festival

A few years ago, we saw Sunshine Seasons (the giant food court located on the bottom level of the Land Pavilion), briefly get in on some of the Food and Wine action by serving up a few tasting-sized items during the annual Festival. An oak-grilled vegetarian sandwich and vegetarian flatbread were available if memory serves me right... and they were pretty good too!

Well, it looks like it's going to be a warm Christmas here in Central Florida. The Hot Toddies are just going to have to wait until January, but no worries… we found a great substitute on a recent Mealtrip to Portofino Bay's Holiday Harbor Nights.

A New Category for Special Events at Resorts
There's a great event series that takes place at the Loews Portofino Bay Hotel called Harbor Nights and we wanted to find a way to work it into our ever growing directory system somehow.
In the theme park and resort world, Disney hosts many themed special events that include dining elements. Most are in-park and a few are held at various resorts throughout the year. They are expensive splurges to be sure, but they are fun and most are executed at a very high level.

The Name Change Game Sweeps Over Animal Kingdom Kiosks

Not too long ago we tried a great Lobster Mac and Cheese at a very oddly named "Beastly Kiosk" somewhere in Animal Kingdom. These one or two item kiosks reminded me a bit of Epcot's Food and Wine Festival, in that you could walk around the park and sample various semi-ethinic cuisines. I also made a few remarks about the future of these locations not being certain because Animal Kingdom is going through some growing pains, and that we would just have to wait and see if these kiosks would remain after the ... NEW Symphony in the Stars : A Galactic Spectacular Dessert Party

We have just received word that a new Star Wars themed dessert party named the "Symphony in the Stars: A Galactic Spectacular Dessert Party" is set to debut at Hollywood Studios beginning January 5th, 2016 and running on select evenings until March 19th, 2016. (Please check with Disney's online booking page for specific dates and times.)
The event is set to take place in the "Center Stage" area which is between Min and Bill's Dockside Diner and, well… the "center stage". Firework location ... ( read more ... )

We've just got word on a new $99 (per adult) dining experience called the "Club Villain Dining Event" at Hollywood Studios that will be held on Saturdays only, beginning on January 16th... and it sounds pretty awesome to us!!!

Sommerfest -vs- the Germany Food & Wine Kiosk

On a recent visit to Epcot's Sommerfest (the quick service window in the park's Germany pavilion) I was surprised to discover the cost of their "signature" item, the Fresh-cooked Brat with Roll and Sauerkraut, was hitting the mid $9 mark ($9.49 to be precise). Granted, it's been a couple of years since I've really stopped to investigate the menu at Sommerfest, but I seem to recall the same item being in the high $6's not too long ago.
