Disney has a knack for repeating things that are good. With that being said, the Culinary Demos have been a part of Epcot's Food and Wine Festival since it began in 1996. There have been some tweaks to the program here and there over the years, and they have all been for the better. Today, the demos combine culinary education and entertainment with a small food and wine pairing sample for each guest. Chef, restauranteur, philanthropist, and just an all around great guy Chef Art Smith has finally leaked a tiny bit of information about another new restaurant coming to Disney Springs in 2016. Chef Art's Florida Fish Camp is in the planning stages now but is set to open in the Spring of 2016 and looks to bring a little slice of Southern cuisine and charm to Disney Springs. We have just added a new set of pages for Epcot's Food and Wine Festival. You will notice the two lines at the top of the Mealtrip "Home" page (with the little wine glass), that read "2015 Epcot International Food and Wine Festival…", those two lines are "sticky" and will stay at the top until the festival is over. We learned today that Animal Kingdom's Pizzafari will serve it's last breakfast on June 17th, 2015. This is significant to me for a couple of reasons. I think the breakfast period at Pizzafari is better than lunch or dinner at Pizzafari. For starters, they don't serve that ubiquitous, too much crust, not enough topping, too small for $8 theme park pizza for breakfast. It's hard to believe that it is already time for Epcot's Food and Wine Festival Rumor season to begin! Those of you that follow our little theme park foodie site here at Mealtrip.com already know that I don't dive too deep into the rumor and breaking news pool. We just got word that the Frozen Summer Fun Premium Package is once again being offered at Hollywood Studios this summer, and is available for booking by calling 407-939-3463 or you can click here to book the event online at the Disney.com site. The event is planned every day from June 17th, 2015 to September 7th, 2015 (except July 4th and July 15th). The almost always booked solid Tomorrowland Terrace Fireworks Dessert Party at the Magic Kingdom has just been replaced with a very similar sounding "new" dessert party experience beginning on July 5th, 2015, the more aptly named the Wishes Fireworks Dessert Party. If you have existing reservations for (now old) Tomorrowland Terrace Fireworks Dessert Party, fear not… the price, location and name of the event will stay the same until July 5th, 2015. The inaugural Chef Demonstration at Epcot's Port of Call gift shop was met with a very blustery day. The kind of day that you can only find in the Hundred Acre Wood. There's no telling if that drew guests into the small gift shop space, or kept guests away from the park that day, but there were around 50 audience members milling about during the demo, which to me, seemed just about right.
