Well, it looks like it's going to be a warm Christmas here in Central Florida. The Hot Toddies are just going to have to wait until January, but no worries… we found a great substitute on a recent Mealtrip to Portofino Bay's Holiday Harbor Nights.

A New Category for Special Events at Resorts
There's a great event series that takes place at the Loews Portofino Bay Hotel called Harbor Nights and we wanted to find a way to work it into our ever growing directory system somehow.
In the theme park and resort world, Disney hosts many themed special events that include dining elements. Most are in-park and a few are held at various resorts throughout the year. They are expensive splurges to be sure, but they are fun and most are executed at a very high level.

The Name Change Game Sweeps Over Animal Kingdom Kiosks

Not too long ago we tried a great Lobster Mac and Cheese at a very oddly named "Beastly Kiosk" somewhere in Animal Kingdom. These one or two item kiosks reminded me a bit of Epcot's Food and Wine Festival, in that you could walk around the park and sample various semi-ethinic cuisines. NEW Symphony in the Stars : A Galactic Spectacular Dessert Party

We have just received word that a new Star Wars themed dessert party named the "Symphony in the Stars: A Galactic Spectacular Dessert Party" is set to debut at Hollywood Studios beginning January 5th, 2016 and running on select evenings until March 19th, 2016. (Please check with Disney's online booking page for specific dates and times.)

We've just got word on a new $99 (per adult) dining experience called the "Club Villain Dining Event" at Hollywood Studios that will be held on Saturdays only, beginning on January 16th... and it sounds pretty awesome to us!!!

Sommerfest -vs- the Germany Food & Wine Kiosk

On a recent visit to Epcot's Sommerfest (the quick service window in the park's Germany pavilion) I was surprised to discover the cost of their "signature" item, the Fresh-cooked Brat with Roll and Sauerkraut, was hitting the mid $9 mark ($9.49 to be precise). Granted, it's been a couple of years since I've really stopped to investigate the menu at Sommerfest, but I seem to recall the same item being in the high $6's not too long ago.

Goodnight Osborne Lights... Farewell, and Thank You!!!

Well, it's official. The Holiday Season of 2015 will mark the end of The Osborne Family Spectacle of Dancing Lights at Hollywood Studios. It does not sound like the display will be moved to another location in the foreseeable future either, so if you like the twinkling lights… this is your last year! The display will be shown nightly from November 6th, 2015 until January 3rd, 2016, at which time the lights will go off, for what could be a very, very long time.
