A Couple More "Return to Normal" Dinning Updates from Disney

A Couple More "Return to Normal" Dinning Updates from Disney It looks like the Kona Cafe (over at Disney’s Polynesian Village Resort) will be open for business again starting on November 1st, 2022 — for breakfast, lunch, and dinner. The location had been closed for a minor refresh — probably new carpet or paint and wallpaper retouches... we're not expecting anything major to change.

Disney has mentioned there will be a couple of menu changes, "everything will be different, yet familiar" — which usually means the prices are increasing. I totally expect popular items like the Tonga Toast and those Macadamia Nut Pancakes will still be on the breakfast menu. Reservations for all three dining periods are open now.

Tusker House (over at Animal Kingdom) is going back to full, unlimited, buffet style dining starting on November 1st, 2022 — and that's for breakfast, lunch, and dinner as well.

I'm very happy about this one! Buffet-style dining is really what Tusker House is all about, and like the Crystal Palace over at the Magic Kingdom, this is one of those quintessential Animal Kingdom dining experiences that you should try, at least once. Reservations for all three dining periods are open now.

Finally, the Akershus Royal Banquet Hall over at Epcot is finally opening back up on November 4th, 2022. This has been one of the longer-closed locations. For the time being, it looks like they'll be serving lunch and dinner only (no mention of breakfast yet)… and it also sound like the dining format is family-style platters (it was kind of a confusing mix of buffet and prix fixe in years past). Various (yet unnamed) Disney Princesses will visit with guests as they stroll around from table to table.

Akershus — is usually a hard reservation to get. Reservations for this one open on October 24th, 2022 (usually at 6am, but no one at Disney has officially confirmed the time).
