The Wave Lounge (when it was built way-back-when) was the first example of a new idea in Disney dining, where a large lounge should be part of (or built right into) a table-service dining location. As such, the Wave’s Lounge features a quite large, three-sided wrap around bar area along with several “very swag blue and purple” seating pods.
Because it’s part of the Wave’s guest area, a decent sized appetizer menu is available, along with the specialty cocktails, wine, and beer that you would expect to find at an upscale lounge.
The location does tend to feel a bit more like a meeting-lounge and not very night-clubby at all, but that fits in very well with the Contemporary’s many convention-based guests.
