Yellowtail Nigiri And Salmon Sashimi

Yellowtail Nigiri And Salmon Sashimi

  |  September 1st, 2021
Pictured in front is the Salmon Nigiri. The pink fish in the background is Yellowtail (amberjack) Nigiri.
So what's the difference between Sashimi and Nigiri? Well Sashimi (technically) doesn't have any rice, so it's not sushi at all. Sashimi translates into "pierced meat".

Nigiri means "two fingers", which refers to the shape of the item. It's two fingers of rice with thin sliced raw fish draped over it.
