It is almost impossible to write a review that encompasses all of the Culinary Demonstrations that are part of Epcot's International Food and Wine Festival. Each 45 minute event is unique and has quite a bit to do with the visiting chef and what they are preparing.

While I do think it's important to have this category in the Mealtrip.com directory, and to have a unified location where everyone can share which chefs and demos they like (or dislike) the most… this first "review" is a bit more of an overview.

It's no secret that I think the Culinary Demos are the real heart and soul of the annual Food and Wine Festival at Epcot. We've been to food and wine festivals at other theme parks, and where some have offered great food, environment, entertainment, and value… it's the various events that take place in the "Festival Center" that give the Epcot Food & Wine Festival, it's prestige and credibility.

For two months and three times a day, every day… a visiting chef prepares a dish on-stage so you can see and hear what they are doing. You'll get a recipe sheet so that you can make the dish at home (if you're so inclined), a sample of the dish to taste, and a sample of wine (or other "adult" beverage) that's been selected to pair well with what the chef is creating.

Just in scope alone… it's' a big, long activity to sustain for a two month period. You basically have a restaurant that's only open for three hours a day, that has to be fully staffed, that never serves the same dish twice, with that main dish being prepared by over 150 chefs... all with very different personalities. Most of the dishes are amazingly great but some do seem to fall into the "just okay" category in comparison.

That's why we would really like to hear from you! Come back and leave a review for any individual chef and dish combination that you really enjoyed, or really didn't enjoy… and why. You don't have to type a lot in the review box… just let us know who you saw, what they made, and if you thought it was more, or less, than what you were expecting.

That kind of information, all collected in one place... will help point everyone visiting the festival to the chefs that always bring their best!
