I stopped by the beautifully detailed, but small Drinkwallah location the other day, purposely to try one of their Lychee Lemonade's with Coconut Rum. The drink was a nicely blended lemonade, with the lychee providing just a hint of sweetness, but sadly, without any of the Lychee's perfume-like quality that you would find in a fresh cut piece of the Asian fruit. Also missing, (and this might be even more sad) was most of the rum. I can't tell you if this is a training issue, or if the recipe they have to stick to just doesn't make use of enough rum, but the Coconut Rum flavor was just barely peaking out from behind the Lemonade. For $6.75, the rum needs to be far more present, not just from a value standpoint, but to balance out the drink.

Which just reinforces what I tell anyone that's looking for a great cocktail in the park… find a bartender to make it for you. If there's more soda slushies on the menu than there are mixed drinks, don't get the mixed drink. My suggestion while at Animal Kingdom would be to head down to the Tusker House check-in area. There, you'll find the Dawa Bar, and a real bartender... who's more likely to know how important the right quantities of things are in cocktails. There's seating, there's shade, and usually even a band or drummers playing just off in the background. A more proper setting, for  what could be a great drink.
