The aptly named Liberty Square Market, is set in the middle of the Magic Kingdom's "Liberty Square" themed area, and might easily be overlooked as just another grab-and-go location. There are quite a few no-cover, full-sun, tables and chairs (in what would otherwise be a giant stroller parking lot), just behind the main market kiosk ... ( read more ... )

The Kabuki Cafe is a cute little stand alone building on the edge of Epcot's Japan Pavilion. It's tucked back a bit, and on a windy day, it's just close enough to the America Pavilion that you can smell funnel cakes wafting in from the east!Because there are quite a few beer bottles and frozen ice type beverages visible from a few paces ... The Italian Food, Wine vs Beer Pairing at Via Napoli event started out as a "beer only" lunch held only during Epcot's International Food and Wine Festival. After one or two years of "beer only" mode, wine was added to the mix, and that… made an already great event, even better! The lunch is held in what I call the "west wing" of ... ( read more ... )

After the fireworks one night we stopped into Gasparilla Island Grill for a quick "we missed dinner" snack and tried out two warm sandwiches. The dining area (i.e. "environment"), is getting ready to go through a multi-month refurbishment (along with the menu probably) so there's not much use in going on about how the space feels like ... The "oak grilling" station at Sunshine Seasons (located in the Land Pavilion at Epcot) is one of the few counter service dining spots at Epcot that is serving up "real food" and not "fast food" in what is still considered a quick service setting. The prices do keep going up and the portions sizes keep shrinking (heck, I remember a time ... ( read more ... )

It's not every day you'll find the Tomorrowland Terrace Restaurant open. No, really.. it's one of those "peak" period places that's usually closed. In the summer however, the part-time counter service restaurant springs to life, and often serves up some of the more interesting fast-food options in the park. Hopefully you know where ... Jake's Beer Festival at Universal's Loews Royal Pacific Resort is a semi-annual event, usually taking place once in the spring and once in the fall of the year. There are at least 50 somewhat common beers (mostly ales, if you want to get technical about it) to sample and eight (give or take) food samples that are offered in an all you ... ( read more ... )

The Friar's Nook in the Magic Kingdom's Fantasyland is one of those places that I have never really considered as a dining option. I like themed dining very much, but Friar's seems like it's more on the edge of something, rather than being in the middle of something. That "something" I'm speaking of is Fantasyland of course. When sitting ... ( read more ... )

The Parisian Afternoon is a special event held on select days (usually Saturdays) only during the Epcot International Food and Wine Festival. It's extremely accessible price-point makes it one of my top recommended "gateway" special events. If you have never been to a "special event" during the Food and Wine Festival, this lunch (along ... I must admit, even though it's been there forever... the long-standing Main Street guest favorite has been a place that I scoot around quickly on my way to somewhere else, without really looking at the menu. Hot Dogs? Okay… I know what those are… next. It's not the look of the place, or even the sauerkraut aromas that seem to ... ( read more ... )
