Epcot's International Food & Wine Festival picked up a great new event in 2015 called the Rockin Burger Block Party. There are only a few events held in the palatial World ShowPlace Pavilion each year during the festival and if you've never been inside the building for a special event, this is quite possibly one of the least ... Beverage and Mixology Demos are fun in their own special way. My best piece of advise for this event series, is to make sure you select a beverage that you like or want to know more about. Because these seminars are "beverage tasting only" type of events (i.e. there won't be any food pairings at Mixology or Beverage Seminars), there ... ( read more ... )

The Sunshine Tree Terrace building is a cute little Boca-style, faux two-story across the street from the Swiss Family Treehouse located just as you enter Adventureland. Yes, there are a couple of Slushy beverages on the menu but the real star here is the Orange Bird's very own "Citrus Swirl". The twirling combination of an orange ... ( read more ... )

The recent change to Tex-Mex at SeaWorld Orlando's Seafire Grill seems to be agreeing with guests because the location is noticeably busier than it had been in the past. Although Tex-Mex isn't really my thing, I've found all the entries so far to be quite good and surprisingly full of flavor. On a recent visit I tried the "Steak" version ... ( read more ... )

It is almost impossible to write a review that encompasses all of the Culinary Demonstrations that are part of Epcot's International Food and Wine Festival. Each 45 minute event is unique and has quite a bit to do with the visiting chef and what they are preparing. While I do think it's important to have this category in the Mealtrip.com ... The Joy of Tea kiosk in Epcot's China Pavilion isn't really a high-end tea booth, as much as it's a grab-and-go for tea-based slushies and tea cocktails (with or without alcohol). You will find items like a Strawberry Oolong Tea Slush (which is quite good) and Mango Green Tea Slush, to the harder Mango Gingerita and "Canto Loopy" made ... ( read more ... )

The Lunching Pad quick service counter at the very center of Tomorrowland has always seemed (to me anyway), a bit more like a 60's drive-in theater concession stand, than a place to eat lunch. I suppose that look of the future, as seen from the past, is the whole idea. As a concept (and when completely devoid of all guests), the location ... ( read more ... )

Animal Kingdom's Harambe Market is located in the back of the park... in the "Africa" section, somewhat close to the Wildlife Express Train entrance (for those of you that are familiar with the park). Disney's marketing for the location would suggest that it's a Quick Service food court type of offering that features African Cuisine. I'm ... ( read more ... )

Epcot's Coral Reef Restaurant is one of those locations that seems to collect rather divisive reviews. Most guests seem to be okay with the restaurant, but those guests that don't like it… REALLY don't like it. From my standpoint, the knowledge you take into this popular seafood "themed" restaurant, is a really important factor. ... ( read more ... )

The Harbor Nights series of events take place four times a year at the Loews Portofino Bay Hotel (near Universal Studios, Orlando). All of the events are said to (i.e. insert marketing copy) celebrate the sweet life with romantic ambiance, etc. etc. etc., because you know… date night and all of that. I like breaking them down a bit ... ( read more ... )
