I have to give Min and Bill's Dockside Diner credit, they could just offer standard issue nachos and burgers. While there are a few of those items on the boat shaped eatery's limited menu (Turkey Legs and Chili Cheese Hot Dogs anyone), there are also a few that aspire to be something more. About a year ago two macaroni cups appeared on ... ( read more ... )

I love going to the Disney Resort Food Courts at off-peak times. Everyone is more relaxed, it's quieter, and the food is usually quite good. So the other night, we stopped by Everything Pop at Disney's Pop Century Resort (at around 10pm), and I had the chance to try a fabulous (new to me) dessert from the bakery. It's somewhat of a side ... ( read more ... )

Tusker House, at Disney's Animal Kingdom is now a buffet-style character meal for all three dining periods, breakfast, lunch and dinner. In the not so distant past, it had been a character meal for breakfast only. It seems to me, that a few positive tweaks have been made to the previously named "Donald's Safari Breakfast" since my last ... ( read more ... )

Breakfast at Epcot's Akershus Royal Banquet Hall in the Norway Pavilion is a "character" meal (in this case, princesses), and from a foodie standpoint, is one of the easier to understand meal periods at the popular restaurant. What I mean by that is... lunch and dinner seem to offer some combination of buffet items and made-to-order, a ... ( read more ... )

The popular Be Our Guest Restaurant at the Magic Kingdom just started "testing" breakfast recently, but based on the popularity of the location, I would expect the new meal period to extend beyond the test phase. The new breakfast format is a cross between counter service and prix fixe. The phrase "prix fixe" is French, and in our ... ( read more ... )

The Biergarten Restaurant is one of those locations where a giant indoor space, is intended to resemble an outdoor space at night, much like the San Angle Inn in the Mexico Pavilion (also at Epcot) or the Blue Bayou at Disneyland. For me though, it never seems to deliver that same "I can't stop looking around, how cool is this" kind of ... ( read more ... )

From a design and environment standpoint, SeaWorld Orlando's indoor dining locations seem to have a little something extra going for them, and Expedition Cafe is no different.  While not all of the locations have a clear backstory, there is detailing in floor surfaces, wall coverings, lighting and decor that's on-par with some of ... You might miss the Lakeside Panini Bistro if you're not looking for it. The small outdoor dining location is located just about opposite of "Sharks", which is one of SeaWorld Orlando's premium-level restaurants. The seating area itself, is actually quite nice, as long as you're good with the weather. Most of the tables are umbrella ... ( read more ... )

I stopped by Epcot's Katsura Grill (the counter service location set back and tucked-in high atop the Japan pavilion at Epcot) the other day and selected the Shogun Combo, which includes equal portions of their teriyaki chicken, teriyaki beef, and rice. There is a small sampling of veggies on the plate as well, which is nice because they ... ( read more ... )

The Golden Oak Outpost in the Magic Kingdom has recently updated their somewhat lackluster menu and turned it into a more spud-centric affair with no less than four topped, waffle cut fry items, (and one powder sugar topped, sweet potato nugget dessert-type entree). I'm thinking a name change to the "Golden Spuds Outpost" might be in ... ( read more ... )
