As night falls at the Garden Grove restaurant, the lights are dimmed and the 25-foot oak tree centerpiece looks even more magical with twinkling lights and paper lanterns!
The Garden Grove is a character dining experience everyday, at dinner only. So if you have reservations for dinner, there will be characters. Goofy and Pluto are usually on-hand and Minnie (or one other character) generally makes an appearance (although that is subject to change from time to time as there's no set character list).
Food-wise, things have been simplified... (a little bit)... on the Garden Grove dinner menu, which is a good thing! (It was a little complex before.)
There is a dedicated Seafood Buffet option on certain nights of the week... which is usually Thursday, Friday and Saturday. For a set price (around $36, beverage not included) you'll get access to the salad and dessert buffet, along with a special Seafood Buffet featuring items like Snow Crab Legs, Mussels Fra Diablo and Seafood Paella. There are additional add-on options like a Stuffed Half Maine Lobster.
Okay, so that's only on specific days... on ALL days (including the Seafood Buffet days)... there is a hybrid, plated-entrée plus salad and dessert buffet option that varies in price.
For example... you can select (changes seasonally) either a 16oz Prime Rim, 1/2 Thyme Roasted Chicken, 8oz. Salmon, or the Chef's Vegetarian Creation (which range in price from $30 to $38 (beverage not included) ... and that also gives you unlimited access to the salad buffet bar, and the dessert buffet bar.
Do not dismiss the dessert buffet bar. Award winning pastry chef Laurent Branlard is usually around somewhere and the desserts (while still being buffet style), are usually pretty interesting.
