There's a 25-foot oak tree in the middle of the dining room! What more do you need to know? It's crazy cool, and worth dining here at least once, just to see the room. It's a really neat space. The Garden Grove restaurant is located in the Swan Hotel on what would be considered the causeway level (more or less the ground floor).
Garden Grove has quite a few things going on for breakfast! On weekend mornings (Saturday and Sunday only) there are characters! Goofy and Pluto are usually on-hand… Minnie Mouse occasionally makes an appearance (although not guaranteed). Weekdays (Monday through Friday) breakfasts are not character meals.
Food-wise there is a buffet option and à la carte options. The breakfast buffet does cost around 10% more on weekends (because of the characters) but is still quite a value when compared to a character breakfast in the parks. The buffet in comprised of American standard items that range from eggs multiple ways, bacon, sausage, breakfast potatoes, pastries, fruit and assorted smoothies.
On the à la carte side of the menu, certain items are designated as SuperFoodsRx®… Dr. Steven Pratt, has authored a book entitled "SuperFoodsRx : Fourteen Foods That Will Change Your Life", and all of the items with this designation on the menu contain one or more of these super foods, considered to be powerhouse ingredients rich in nutrients, antioxidants and delicious taste. An example would be the restaurant's Wheat Germ Pancakes with Blueberries or Chocolate Chips (yes, dark chocolate is one of the 14 super foods… I think I need to read this book.)
(*) Price ranges listed are the average cost for one main entree and one soft beverage item, unless otherwise stated. There are many combinations of appetizers, deserts and drinks that will add to your final total. Many parks also use seasonal pricing systems which result in food and beverage costs increasing at peak times. Please check with the location that you are interested in for specific pricing information.
