Artist Point had been a "signature" restaurant at Disney's Wilderness Lodge (meaning, "two dining credits") that featured culinary arts from the Pacific North West region of America (i.e. National Park "inspired" cuisine).  I have had good and bad experiences at the old Artist Point… the more recent of those, were good. The ... ( read more ... )

I had not been back to visit the Spice Road Table since the official menu changeover, from small plate tapas style dining — to the more common three-course (appetizer, main entree, dessert) format. I have good memories of the restaurant dating all the way back to the opening day menu. While not being particularly "authentic" ... ( read more ... )

I had a chance to experience the new (and probably temporary) Tailgate Tasting at Epcot's Food and Wine Festival on Monday, September 17th, 2018… and you know what? It was pretty cool actually! The limited-time, complimentary engagement which takes place on select Monday's only — pairs a very small amount of football, with ... ( read more ... )

There are two and a half places to eat at Disney's Port Orleans Resort — Boatwright's is a table service restaurant that is only open for dinner, our "half" place to eat is a great piano lounge that goes by the name of "River Roost Lounge" (it's only a "half" because they have a small bites menu from 5pm to 11pm), which leaves us ... Disney's Countdown to Midnight is a New Year's Eve Celebration that (as the name might suggest) only happens once each year! The 2018-2019 event will mark the third time (in recent history anyway) that the big resort bash will be held in the Contemporary Resort's Fantasia Ballroom. Prior to this, there was a similar event around the ... ( read more ... )

I have visited Frontera Cocina a couple times since it's opening in Disney Springs, but those were for special events. This was my first visit just for dinner. Frontera (so far anyway) has done a really nice job of introducing new seasonal specials and menu items to keep things interesting. My visit this time fell on the very first day ... If you park in the "Lime" garage at Disney Springs, it's hard to enter the shopping area without smelling something (usually meat) being wood-fire grilled at the Polite Pig. Not great -- if you're following a plant-based diet… but for carnivores, it draws you in, like a moth to a light bulb. I decided to stop in the other day to ... ( read more ... )

Now that the dust is starting to settle over the shiny new Disney Springs, I've started adding the many dining locations to the directory here at Mealtrip.com. (No, no we're not a source for "breaking" news and rumors -- we're more about what you're actually going to find when visit these locations.) Disney Springs even has it's own main ... Whispering Canyon Cafe can be a very loud, boisterous experience… which is exactly what it's supposed to be! But if you want to try out this middle of the road bbq-ish restaurant, (which for many, has become like an old-friend that you must visit on any trip)… minus all the excitement… a late lunch might be the perfect ... The character interactions at Tusker House are so much fun! It's one of the few locations you can meet and interact with the fab four dressed in their safari gear. (Goofy, Donald, Daisy and Mickey … possibly Minnie … but never all five on the same day … usually … there's no rules here people, it's a theme park). ... ( read more ... )
