I have often said that Epcot's Sunshine Seasons counter service location is one of the best "food court" style restaurants in any of the four Disney/Orlando theme parks. Easily on the short list of top three quick service locations that you should try while you're here. It occurred to me the other day though… that while I praise ... ( read more ... )

The Contempo Cafe is actually a pretty decent choice for a counter service lunch. The food here seems to be ever so slightly more geared to food-lovers than the burgers, hot dogs and sandwiches that you will find at similar counter service locations. If you happen to be in the Magic Kingdom, without lunch reservations, and find that ... ( read more ... )

I haven't been to Capt. Cooks in a while, (not since they renovated the decor a few years ago actually), so I decided to stop in the other day and try out a couple of the items. The system at Capt. Cooks goes something like this… you place your order (and pay for it) over by the semi-on-stage kitchen area, and are given a table ... ( read more ... )

The Highway in the Sky Dine Around is a VERY popular new dining event that combines a five course dinner at five resort dining locations, multiple trips on a monorail, small setting socializing opportunities with other food and Disney fans, and a reserved firework viewing location to close the night out. I have added 78 photos from the ... ( read more ... )

There's nothing better than a giant baked potato filled with stuff. I'm happy to report that the "stuff" they are filling baked potatoes with at Fairfax Fare is a great combination of beef, cheese and sour cream. Add a little course salt to the outer skin of the potato and a tiny side salad, and you've got the makings for a great meal. ... ( read more ... )

You might miss the Roaring Fork if you're not looking for it. Tucked out of the way and around the corner from anything that would be considered a "main area" at Disney's WIlderness Lodge, it's cave-like nature hides the little counter service dining option from a lot of would be passers by. It's probably for the best. The location ... ( read more ... )

You really can't go wrong with Pretzels and Beer in a theme park. SeaWorld Orlando's "Mama's Pretzel Kitchen" manages to do one better by stuffing pretzels with things like meatballs, bratwurst, and pepperoni pizza ingredients. Not only that, there's at least a half dozen craft, IPA, (and/or domestic) beers available as a flight or ... ( read more ... )

As the days dip down to the mid-80s here in Orlando and I ponder when to put the snow ties on the car, my thoughts always turn to covering things with cold soft serve ice cream. The problem when trying to catch a photo of anything topped with ice cream in Florida is the whole "melt factor". My wintery attempt to capture a well formed ice ... ( read more ... )

Since around New Year's Eve 2000, the World ShowPlace building at Epcot has been hosting a buffet-style dining period. It's name has changed from time to time but the basic format stays about the same. I last attended the annual event a few years ago when the theme was "Fantasia". Since then a few people have asked what the event is like ... ( read more ... )

Rosie's All-American Cafe is essentially a food ordering and distribution window in the Sunset Ranch Market area of Hollywood Studios. "Outside food-court" is going to more accurately describe the concept. The counter-service locations in this food court, suffer from the same issues as some of the other food court concepts at Disney ... ( read more ... )
